Angels and Drúir

The two peoples in Anglia who have magic in them. Déynáir is a school for young Engle and Drúir.

First appears in chapter 1

Engle and Drúir are the two peoples who live in Anglia and have magic in them. The words already appear in Chris’s letter in chapter 1, where he is accepted at Déynáir, “the school for young Engle and Drúir”. He has no idea what a Drúir is.

What they have in common

Both peoples carry Dherak, the power that all magic is built on. That is what sets them apart from ordinary people, who, according to Ahra, do not have it. Dherak also sits in stone, water and air all over Anglia, but most of all in the Engle and Drúir themselves. And they attend the same school.

What sets them apart

According to Ahra’s brother Maka, ravens are a common Amícûs among Engle.

The published chapters say nothing more than that about the difference. This lexicon sticks to what is in the book.
