About the series
Sybil Delling is a foundling who has spent nine years as a Diviner in the cathedral at Traum. In her dreams she sees omens for the people who come to ask. Her life is quiet and settled.
Then a rude knight called Rodrick arrives, and soon afterwards the Diviners start to vanish one by one. Sybil has to leave the cathedral and ask the knight for help, even though he is the last person she wants to trust.
The book is by the same author as One Dark Window and has the same dark fairy-tale atmosphere. The sequel is called The Knave and the Moon.

My thoughts
I listened to the audiobook, and after One Dark Window I was curious to see whether Gillig could pull it off again. She has the same gift for building mysteries slowly, and the world is just as atmospheric.
