About the series
In the kingdom of Ilya, a plague once gave some people powers. They are called Elites, and they rule everything. Those without powers, the Ordinaries, are banished or killed. Paedyn Gray is an Ordinary, but she has survived by pretending to be a mind reader, reading people’s bodies instead.
When she saves a prince, she is forced into the Purging Trials, a deadly contest for Elites, where she has to fight people with real powers. And Prince Kai, whose job is to hunt down the Ordinaries, gets closer to her than is good for either of them.
In Danish, the first book is called Powerless: Jaget. Jæger. The series is written for young readers.

My thoughts
I’ve listened to it, and I like the idea of a main character with no powers who gets by because she notices everything. That kind of cunning is what makes a contest exciting.
