About the book
Auren lives in a golden cage in a castle in the mountains of Orea. King Midas, who can turn anything to gold, once saved her, and now she is his favourite, his possession and his secret. She believes she is safe.
But when Midas sends her on a journey to secure a political deal, Auren starts to see the cage from the outside, and she discovers what staying in it has cost her.
The series is dark, and it’s about control and finding yourself again. It has adult scenes.

My thoughts
I listened to it, and what’s interesting is that the main character starts out defending her own cage. It takes time for her to see it, and that’s what makes her growth so powerful.
